Recordings only 7 minutes long

My fathers VMC machine last week did about 6 recordings from the free guide , and all of them only ran for 7 minutes each.....!!!

Any thoughts ...???

I did notice that the machine was requesting a LOG ON when starting , so I'm assuming that Vista has auto updated something. I did a re start , and altered the power settings regarding LogOn/password at start up from standby.

It would appear to be operating OK since the weekend , ... but as I said everything from last week was only 7 minutes in duration .... All from the guide and most were using the Record Series red dot

cheers

Re: Recordings only 7 minutes long

is this 7 minutes from start of recording i think this happens when the start and stop time are the same so it may have been start recording 3 minutes before the show started and stop recording 4 minutes after the show ends

you can check the logs in recorded tv

Re: Recordings only 7 minutes long

No , the selection of recordings was very mixed and varied

IE.... Grand Designs , both lots Tue 11am / Tue 8.30pm
Insiders 9am Sun / Offsiders 10.30 Sun
Topgear
Olympic Opening

All of these only recorded for 7 minutes mostly from standby........ and all bar the Olympics were regular Series recordings ......The Ol man was a tad upset about it .

Cheers

It looks like the system time zone is off by one hour. Could it be that the system time zone was accidentally changed? Just a guess....
