tuner remote all buttons doing to the same thing.

I have recently built a VMC box and the Leadtek 1000s TV tuner and remote control that comes with the tuner has been working very stable under VMC. Leadtek 1000s remote has a VMC mode which works with VMC quite well.

The box hasn't been rebooted (only put to sleep) for at least a week and nothing has changed on the TV tuner. Last Saturday I've decided to reboot the box, and reboot all buttons on the remote including the VMC green button behave the same way - scroll up a few items. After some investigation with a keyboard, it seems all the remote buttons are mimicking the Page Up key on the keyboard.

I've since uninstalled and reinstalled the latest Leadtek driver as well as PVR2 application but still can't get the remote to work. Has anyone seen this problem before? I post this under VMC software because the problem started after a reboot and this indicates it's more likely a Windows problem than a TV tuner issue.

The system restore only goes back 3 days and that didn't fix the problem either.

Appreciate if anyone has any other suggestions or even better a solution if it's been encountered before. I really don't want to spend 20 hours to reinstall Vista again especially the PVR was mainly put together to record Olympic.

Perhaps an obvious one here, but have you replaced the batteries in the remote. Perhaps they're dud.

Re: tuner remote all buttons doing to the same thing.

Thanks for the quick replies. I have changed the batteries but that didn't help.

I could see the WinFast icon in the task bar although I never made out what it is. Is it a red TV on blue R? Left click on the WinFast pops up a menu and allows me to tick if I want to use the remote in VMC or WinFast mode.

If I untick the VMC and use the remote in PVR mode, and start PVR2 software. Clicking on any remote buttons will close this application.

I should have programed the Philips Pronto universal remote to learn the codes from the Leadtek remote, in case if the remote is short circuit. It's a bit too late now I guess.

Will probably reinstall Vista after Olympic and just use the wireless keyboard to control VMC for now.

What's WFWIZ anyway?

Re: tuner remote all buttons doing to the same thing.

Have you solved this problem yet? (Chances are no since the Olympics are still on )

I'm having a very similar problem with my Leadtek DTV1800 remote. Everything will work fine before the machine is put to sleep, but when I bring it out of sleep (for this I have to use the mouse since the Winfast Wizard has already died), the remote does not work anymore?

Anyone have any ideas - I've been at this most of today and its one of the last two things I've got to get sort with VMC before I'm totally done (maybe)...
