Logitech Z-5450 + Vista Ultimate Problem

Hi,

I'm having a problem with the relationship between my logitech system & Vista ultimate. I mention vista ultimate because I'm dual booting with Xp and XP isn't having this problem...The problem is that when I go to configure the sound setup for my logitech, I only get sound from 2 speakers whereas my setup is for a 5.1. Doesn't matter what I do, I cannot get sound out of all 5.1 speakers with ultimate. Has anyone encountered this problem?

Wouldn't this be a sound card problem,not a Logitech Z-5450 issue?

ie. Please tell us what sound card you have

I haven't updated them since XP so I don't think I am running the latest. Downloading now and will give it a go...I tried logitech on XP and it actually didn't work for me on xp either even though it has in the past. I've done something wrong here

Re: Logitech Z-5450 + Vista Ultimate Problem

ok...I've installed the latest drivers but am still only sound out of the 2 front speakers. Have checked my configurations and as far as I can tell, it should work. Am I missing something?

Re: Logitech Z-5450 + Vista Ultimate Problem

Have you checked your "effect" settings on the Z-5450? When I first loaded up Vista in conjunction with my Z-5300s, I had left the 2 X Stereo output enabled (to make stereo sound come out both front and rear speakers), so when I was testing the channels, the rear audio was also coming out the front speakers, which threw me at first..

Make sure you set it to 6 channel on the command console..

EDIT: 6 Channel, not 6.1 :P

That did it Auldar...It was the blimmin effect setting, it's now on 6 channel direct which has fixed the problem. I'm running the driver update suggested earlier now as well and I would recommend it to anyone else in my situationl. Thanks all for your help.

Ah, that makes sense. I'm using the SPDIF so I don't get these issues
