Re: Current Vista Pricing....

Will be interesting to see OEM pricing.
BTW, I am looking to get Dell XPS 1210 laptop, and for additional USD40.00 I could get Vista later upgrade - Home Premium.

Yes it sure will. My "guess" on Vista Ultimate OEM is around the $250 mark but it may be more.

I'll be buying two copies because the packaging is just soooooo sexy. I nearly wet myself when I saw the pics of how it opens.

Don't get me wrong I have no intention of installing it, I just like the boxes it comes in especially the black one because it really convinced me to buy.

Re: Current Vista Pricing....

I'm with Arkay

Vista pricing is why I have been playing with Kubuntu for a while now. I'll stick with MCE 2005 for the HTPC, and go with Linux for the desktop. No Vista upgrades for me unless something changes.

Re: Current Vista Pricing....

I'm with you BlueJ. Ubuntu has been a fun experiment on my desktop, and now that I know that some windows based programs can run on Ubuntu (sepecially dvdshrink) I'll be 100% Ubuntu in a little while.

Having said that, finding drivers for my Dlink wireless card were a biatch, but I got there. On my old AMD 2500+ system its running a breeze. I had all sorts of problems getting Vista RC1 to work on that machine, and now taht I know the price, I'm glad it did.

Cheers,
Birdie
