Having troubles downloading Windows Vista Beta 2 from the Customer Preview Program?
Well you're not alone. According to a recent chat with Windows Featured Community members, Microsoft says they're maxed out meeting their threshold of downloads - serving out product keys 10 times faster than downloads can be served.
and a reported "direct quote" from a Microsoft representative,
"So, we are literally saying that if we increased our bandwidth any further there's a possibilty of taking down the Internet".
- now I've heard it all!

Reminds me of the day a certain Bill Gates was doing a promo for Win98 SE... in front of the press and all to see low and behold - BSOD....
Didn't the Xbox crash during the launch too? He was playing a game with someone. I've lost count of the number times I've seen a blue screen on a projector at some sort of product launch. It's usually followed by a chorus of "give it the three fingered salute!"

I'm a country channel manager for an international data capture company and all our terminals have either PC200x or CE.Net as the OS. I have been in the "IT" industry for a long time and I have either seen someone else or myself bring up the dreaded "BSOD". Up until very recently I have never seen a hand held terminal crash and burn...until this Monday. I had the latest and greatest of our devices in my hand and what do you think happened, BSOD. It was to say the least very embarrasing.
Funny you should mention that about handhelds crashing, I was an Qantas flight from Shanghai 2 weeks ago and my "entertainment terminal" crashed. They run windows CE on those.

I have had Nokia and Sony Erricsson phones and both of them crash... neither run on Windows. My point? All OS's crash.
