re: New util: MC Menu Mender

Hi advent

I hope you are up for a new thing...?
Is it possible to make a program that adds a new link to the more program menu in mce...

For instance
I could add veohtv to the menu by simply showed the app the link to the .exe to the program..
or I could add a weblink to for instance http://tv.sputnik.dk/forside.html

re: New util: MC Menu Mender

Hi jr_kng - yes, I have considered adding this but it is purely a matter of time. I've been pretty busy lately and i'm going on holidays for a week next week, so it will probably be a while before I can find the time to add the features you're talking about. I'll post here if/when I find the time

Thanks for your interest and your suggestion!

Also, thanks ryan93, glad it (finally) worked for you. Thanks for your patience!

Question re: New util: MC Menu Mender

Hej
Maybe you could help me with this....
I could create a little application like this

Start Notepad and create the following "mcl" file:

<application
ulr = "http://tv.sputnik.dk/forside.html"
name = "Sputnik"
</application>

Save the file as:

C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\S tart Menu\Programs\Accessories\Media Center\sputnik.mcl

This creates an application that opens the link
http://tv.sputnik.dk/forside.html inside media center "it work"

There are to problems thou
1.) The application Is not showing inside “more programs” is mce

I tried something els
I have saved a link to veohtv.exe at the same location C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\S tart Menu\Programs\Accessories\Media Center\
And it work and is showing i "more programs"
But way can it se one link but not another
chould i registre i some where????

2.) I can’t get I to start iexplore in full screen, minor problem, I could solve this by letting iexplore always start I full screen.

I think you have to register the mcl file somewhere, in the registry probably, but do a serch and you'll find it

No, MC Menu Customiser only recognises plugins registered in the registry. The mcl file based method of registration is deprecated, and i'm not even sure if it is possible to get mcl files to appear in any other menu than More Programs (might be possible, i'd have look into it)

Also, cheers jerryt

re: New util: MC Menu Mender

First, congratulation! MC Menu Customiser is a very good soft to custom MCE! I Love it
But, I have just a little problem. In the past I create manualy in the windows registry custom strips and tiles to add in MCE. It work well but "MC Menu Customiser " don't detect already existed custom entries... I must remove my orginal custom and create again with your soft. It's not a big problem but you find a solution for a next release.

Do you to plan an option to create a link easly for programs not in the original drop zone?

re: New util: MC Menu Mender

Thanks Eric78! Existing custom strips *should* be detected - unless you've created them under HKEY_CURRENT_USER instead of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. If you can be bothered, i'd be interested in seeing the registry keys you used - if you could export the relevant keys to a .reg file, or just paste them into a PM and send it to me, that would be fantastic.

As for adding new links - yes, I plan on adding this feature... just as soon as I get the time Pretty busy with (paid) work and other things right now.
