when setting up free epg ?

Hi Guy's,

Set up free epg on vista ok. When prompted for postcode thats when I installed free epg. This worked a treat. Installed vista on a second machine same process free epg shows up in the list of providers and downloads but doesn't show in the guide.

I am only adding a few channel listings to the guide not all, does this affect it? Or do I need to add them all?

cheers

Philby

Or you sure you have added the right listing to the channel? I found it a bit confusing in Vista. Otherwise go through the setup process again.

Re: when setting up free epg ?

I have also set up free epg for Vista. The process seemed to be a lot simpler than what was documented in the PDF instructions for XP MCE. Most things seem to be automated, unlike the BRP 3.5 application. I'm in Perth and didn't recall having any option to pick a perth guide. Anyway I have some guide listings but they seem to be an hour or so out. Maybe this is daylight savings time difference or something ? P.S. You definitely enter your postcode and not 0000 like brp dont you ?

Any perth related tips would be good.... geeze I might even have to have a look at Ice soon although I noticed they dont properly support vista yet :-(

I have absolutely everything working in Vista except for the guide and really like it.

Ice works a treat with Vista as long as you install Pimp or disable MCUpdate. I update ice guide every day without a hickup.

Re: when setting up free epg ?

Yeah thanks I forgot to mention I went for the "disable daily mcupdate task".
I'm pretty sure my guide is 1 hour out which might be the daylight savings thing but not sure ???

HI Does disabling this prevent the message - "no epg guide data is available for you region." After Vista Display that message I have to re-setup the guide, download EPDStream Free EPG(ozitvo) and scan for channels again. Very anoying.
