Angry Tried everything - still getting "country or region" error?!

I'm at the end of my tether with this one!

I know it's been covered extensively in other threads, but I've tried everything I can think of, and no luck.. I've searched exhaustively through this forum, and the FreeEPG forum, and have had no joy so far

I've tried the registry deletion and FreeEPG reinstall method from here http://www.xpmediacentre.com.au/comm...pparently.html, with no luck..

Here's what I'm running:

Vista 64 SP1
Windows Media Center
Hauppauge 2200
Free EPG

Here's what I've tried:
Installed the two 64 bit reg fixes from here
Important Hotfixes For Vista Media Center

Installed GlenR's ref fix from here
SP1 - Registry Keys Required To Prevent Guide Corruption

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling FreeEPG a couple of times, have restarted after each step, etc. I must plead ignorance regarding the workings of the windows registry, but I think this may have something to do with the problem I'm having.

I gather that, since I'm already running SP1, I didn't need to install the first two reg fixes, just GlenR's one. In fact, when I installed the tuner initially, the guide would not work, giving the "no guide for your region" error. I installed GlenR's fix, and FreeEPG, and it worked! Then I installed the other fixes and I received the old error again. Now I don't know how to make it work again!

Please help - I'm new at the media centre thing, but I've done my research and feel like I've hit an impasse regardless..

Cheers

OK, I have resolved this now

The fix that worked for me was this one:

Huzzah!

Re: Tried everything - still getting "country or region" error?!

I had this one too - the fix for me was to install the apps from EPGStream, make the XMLTV file, then run the MCE Setup Guide Listings wizard to the page where they ask you to type your postcode.

At this point, I minimised MCE, ran the wmcGuideProxyService config tool, stopped and restarted the proxy service, and then went back to the MCE setup screen, typing in my postcode. The setup then correctly showed the DVB-C provider on the next page and all was good after that.

This appears to be specific to SP1 Vista, by the way.
