Complete and Free EPG For FTA

Hi,

After reading through all the threads, I have come to the conclusion that there is no 1 free EPG source for FTA TV... is that other people's conclusions also?

I have tried FreeEPG and OzTivo, but none of them give every channel of my 51 channels (excluding the FTA TV Guide channel, eg ABC2, D44 etc).

Anyone have comments/better experiences?

Thanks,
goulin

Re: Complete and Free EPG For FTA

Hi Goulin

I get 27 channels but I really only care about listings for the usual suspects - abc1 & 1, 7, 9, 10 & sbs sd & hd. I run FreeEPG with their listing and have always found it excellent. Only had a couple of glitches which I have been happy to sort out because it is free. Their aint too many things that are free these days.

The EPG Situation in Australia is in an appalling state. The Networks refuse to supply a complete and acurate guide. For this reason the team at www.myepg.com.au have started a petition to get the regulators to act on our befalf. Sign the petition and send as many letters as you can to all of the people listed on the site.

Re: Complete and Free EPG For FTA

i'm having a really hard time deciding which one to use... i started with IceTV... love the idea and concept behind setting up my recordings via the net, etc... but i noticed a mistake on the listing for a show on channel 10... IMO this shouldn't happen with something you have to pay for...

i setup FreeEPG last night and i have to say i'm impressed with the amount of info it gives (actually showed more channel listings then IceTV)... but it has the same mistake for the particular show... so i'm not really any better off with either of them...

i dont entirely get why this is such an issue... i mean we have sites like yourtv.com.au that have a great tv guide... that i've never seen to be incorrect... why can't the info off that be used?

Re: Complete and Free EPG For FTA

Read the website that aanda6 linked to and you'll find out why. Then sign the petition and email the letters if you want it resolved.

And the the OP, the reason you have 51 channels is due to duplicates found. Just add the guide details to the ones you will watch (i.e You don't need to enable Seven, Seven 1, Seven 2, Seven 3 as they are all the same).

Sign the myEPG petition. Go on, you know you want to.....

Was that the "Made in China" Special?
No that was on Seven, I don't think that Ando comedian talked once about the walmart effect on American jobs ;-)
I saw that error, and thought Huh?

nah... it was something much more embarrasing...

lol not going to mention what program it was... it starts with F and my girlfriend loves it... channel 10... early evening... i'm sure you can guess...

anyway i've switched to freeepg and i'm going to give it a chance... combined with webguide4 it seems like a pretty good combo... only thing now is the padding... 4 minutes being the max with VMC means that i may miss a little bit of some shows

EDIT: just so you know... i have already signed the petition
EDIT2: ooo... looks like webguide4 has options for padding... anyone know if they work?
