Public EPG Data Group Discussion

As mentioned in the previous (now closed) thread here, it was agreed today that we should begin a new thread and hopefully use it for sharing information about the campaign's progress and avoid getting side-tracked with discussions not related to the current campaign.

Re: Public EPG Data Group Discussion

Thanks Mike.

OK, an update of current progress .....

We have received a reply from the ACMA and are just trying to determine what, if anything, it means. It wasn't overly inspiring . We need to talk to them some more before finally deciding if its a deadend or not. Once the person who replied can be contacted, and those details clarified, the letter and reply will be posted here or on the new web site.

We are moving forward with setting up the web site to communicate all of the information to those from here, and elsewhere, that want to get involved. We are planning over the next week to finalise the 18 proforma letters we need as resources on the site. We have a few editors lined up already, but if crafting letters is a passion of yours do PM me.

So in short there are primarily 8 people beavering away to get material ready to go. Again if its your passion to get involved feel free, this is not exclusive in any way.

Re: Public EPG Data Group Discussion

Know that even though there are only the EPG8, I am more than thankful for this intiative (as I am sure the overwhelming majority here also are) and although I offer my full support for this cause...I really don't have the time to assist in the pursuit at this point in time. Life has become too busy lately and I have fallen out of being to cover every thread on this forum. Hopefully this initiative gets us somewhere in regards to accurate information on our current broadcasters....but I fear it may be easier to setup our own digital internet TV station/s with content we want rather than what the networks want to deliver in the manner they want to deliver it. Good luck and God speed EPG8 I am sure results will come.

Q: Does Microsoft have an official or unofficial stance on this initiative? Would be interesting to know.
