windows vista epg stream guide will not download or install

Hi there
I recently bought a windows vista ultimate computer and I downloaded the epg stream software from epg stream
Then after it was downloaded, I went into the mce section to download the TV guide and when I did, I got two
Error messages show up the first error message was the download of the new options could not be
Completed the existing TV setup options will be used as you continue through the TV single setup
Select next to continue so after that I clicked next and went through the rest of the steps then when
It came to the end I got this error message file validation error mismatched guide package
Code 21 and I don’t know why I got those error messages I tried the install with the firewall on
In addition, off and still getting the same error messages if anyone can help me sort out this minor
Problem it would be a great help to me or if u have any websites I can use or anything else

once you downloaded did you install and configure the epgstream software?

hi after i downloaded the epg stream software it said to go into the media centre to setup the guide data thats where it went horrible wrong and it gave me those error messages and each time i try to set up the guide data it gives me the same error messages could it be something to do with the aieral or the digital setup

so you download epgstream
installed the epgstream software and set your state/region
let it finish installing
then went into Mce to configure guide data?

Also in control panel-> regional settings make sure all settings are for AU no US or UK

when i went into windows vista media centre section i clicked onto tasks and went into the tv section then went into configure the guide listing and it showed the region to be australia then it showed the usual info then i clicked next then it started the download then after it downmloaded it came up with that first error message then i clicked next to continue on then at the end it gave me that second error message i mentioned about code 21 so it sounds like it is configured for australia

in the date and time box in the time zone it says time zone (gmt+930) adelaide

DId you actually install EPGstream or simply download the program. EPGstream has to be configured first then you start MCE

To your question, I downloaded it onto my hard drive and it downloaded the setup prog to my hard drive then i clicked onto the setup and a page open with free epg guide windows xp media centre 2005 setup
On the epg stream site, they said that setup was
for windows vista too then it came to a welcome page and next down at the bottom of the page so i clicked next then it came to a installation type page with repair epg installation or uninstall and
Revert to previous settings then it went through until it installed the software then after that i went into the media centre as i mentioned earlier and had all those major hassles in the media centre section

I have no experience with epg but they all follow a basic premise.

In control panel (of Vista not mce) is your region set to australia?

HAve you given free EPG a go, they have a support forum here

yer I figured that out they basic premise I tried ice TV because I got a free trial with the comp when I bought it and had no luck with that either I used bladrerunner pro when I had windows xp
But don’t know which version of bladrerunner pro that it use on windows vista and
Don’t know if it use oz tivo extreme and I don’t know if it use the TV guide from oztivo extreme to setup the guide in windows vista and does the bladrerunner pro use the same preset as the bladrerunner pro for windows xp how easy is it to setup the bladerunner pro for windows vista

i found out 2day why no epg would work or download any guide data i had a corrupted MachineKeys folder and with the help of a tech friend we created a new MachineKeys folder and now the epg works and downloads the guide data for me i am using ice tv for my guide data there guide data works real well now so now i shouldnt have anymore problems with guide data if the prob does occur again i know how to fix it up thanks to my tech friend

Hi, I am having the same problem. Can you please post the steps you went through to get it working. How did you fix the machine key?

1] double click onto my computer go into c drive double click onto c drive then look for a folder called program data
2] double click onto the folder called program data then look for a folder called called microsoft
3]double click onto the microsoft folder and look for a folder called crypto double click on the crypto folder look for a folder called called rsa folder
3]then look for a folder called machine keys once u see that folder create a new folder called machine keys old then close all those folders and go into the mce and run the tv guide set up again then it should work for u
4] if u cant see those folders i mentioned look for the word tools open that and look for folder options open that box then go into view and put a dot in show hidden folders then it will show the hidden folders
