EPG in NZ on Vista

I will be moving to NZ for a while with work and will be (obviously) taking my media centre rig with me. Does anyone who lives in NZ atm is able to tell me if they have a working EPG on Vista? Also, I have a FusionHDTV DVB-T card and I've heard rumours they won't work in New Zealand...is this true?

Re: EPG in NZ on Vista

Microsoft doesnt provide an EPG in NZ. However do a search for xmltvnz on the web and you should be able to find enough information on getting your own guide going.

NZ has DVB-S, but DVB-T is only rolling out to some areas (high population density) in 2008. See link. So not sure about the card.

Re: EPG in NZ on Vista

Freeview in NZ will be using h.264 for DVB-T, so unfortunately until MS updates Vista with a h.264 decoder DVB-T in NZ won't work. DVB-S works perfectly.

As Mike has said you can use XMLTVNZ which grabs the EPG data from various web sites. The current version 3 is in beta and a donation is required to access it. It works very well and can be found here http://www.reven.co.nz/

If you need any help setting it up send me a PM.
