Re: 7HD - have u added it? Channel 7's new channel

It's not actually a new channel, they are just broadcasting the occassional different show on 7HD and calling it a new channel.

Being in Canberra I'm not sure that they are doing it but I know Sydney is. Currently the only provide information via either advertising or a pdf on their website and the guides haven't exactly caught up.

Re: 7HD - have u added it? Channel 7's new channel

you seem to be right. i found this post on the net:

as6 @ Oct 22nd 2007 12:41AM
The problem is that Seven haven't launched ANOTHER HD channel, they are now just using the one that they have for alternate programming. All this has done is annoy the hell out of me. Why? I have a HD hard disk recorder which I use to record shows like The Unit and Stargate. I missed these shows last week because, as I usually record them on the HD channel to watch on my big plasma, I ended up recording something completely different. Now I have to put up with SD recordings of late night programs, which kinda defeats the purpose of a HD hard dick recorder and big plasma tv.

**********

mind you, they say its on a different channel - 70! surely that means it is a new channel so to speak, i couldnt find it when scanning for it. ill try after 10.30 when their shows actually air.

Just on this subject...

Cheers,

There is no guide for HD channels as yet, just Seven showing some shows at certain times that are actually different. This will at least give you an idea know what is on in HD...

They've started including it in their online TV guide (finally):

Channel 70 has always been available, it's channel 7's HD channel. As others have said, the ONLY change is that now they will occasionally show different content on the HD channel when compared to the SD channel.

If you can't pick up 70 - then perhaps you only have an SD tuner. Do you get the other HD channels (12, 20, 90) ?

I'm getting the new HD7 stuff in the oztivo data, they had the borowers (go figure...) on today, and it's in my web scheduler epg (direct from oztivo data, not epg*stream)... only problem is it's all an hour out (I'm in Brisbane, and the common channels - SBS News, ABC2 and now 7HD are all on Sydney time).

An SD digital tuner card - probably not. But maybe turbodewd has an SD set top box, as he didn't seen to have even heard of channel 70.
