Incorrect Audio Labeling on Channel Guides

Hi,

I've been using the EPGStream Free TV Guide for a while, but started to notice that each Channel in the guide (and when viewing the information for the channel I am watching or surfing through) states the type of Audio incorrectly for that channel.

I only discovered this when I was putting the sound through the AV Receiver and it stated the signal was Dolby Digital, when the channel information stated it wasnt. I was watching a HD channel at the time.

When I switched to the SD channel, the info stated Dolby Digital but the Av Receiver stated Stereo.

I tested it and it seems that every channels audio information is the opposite to what it is.

Anyone came across this before.. Is there a simple fix for it?

Thanks,
Robert

Re: Incorrect Audio Labeling on Channel Guides

I don't think the guide data carries any audio format info, & besides that, most Dolby Digital is 2.0 (stereo) & not 5.1 anyway.

BTW, 7HD have had a bad habit of mis-tagging their audio (i.e. 5.1 is tagged as 2.0 & 2.0 is tagged as 5.1).

Edit: BTW, all stations broadcast in DD in Aus (usually in 2.0).

Aghh... So, it is quiet possible the information transmitted from the TV Station is what the info box displays (when channel surfing), rather than the Guides information.. Didn't even think of that.

Thanks for that...

Robert
