Re: Sydneysiders: I will pay you $150 to set up my media centre!

I'm in Sydney, for $150 i'd set it up with ubuntu and xbmc, It will play anything you care to throw at it, over the network (wired or wireless) or local (internal/external hard disk, usb, digital camera etc). It will be maintenance free. You will be able to use an MS remote control.

If you have a library of files like tv shows in a proper directory structure (even spread across different locations on the network) it will also give you the sexiest UI ever created for a media center (much much more advanced and streamlined than VMC) including poster/dvd/cd/actor cover art as well as show/music/dvd synopsis -----AUTOMATICALLY and without intervention downloaded from the internet whenever you add more content.

Browsing/scrolling through the media "folders" also works in realtime with cover art and thumbnails as fast as you can scroll (unlike some other solutions).
