Palit ATI Radeon 3870, failure to display sometimes

Sometimes (usually when the machine has been on for a couple of days) and I turn my TV back on (Sony Bravia 40" 1080i) I get no display via HDMI. If I change to VGA then the computer is still on and fine. I am guessing it is just not "initialising" the HDMI or something. It is intermittent but does happen alot e.g. at least 3 times a week which is pretty annoying. Reboot and instantly the display and audio is back via HDMI

Have latest drivers etc. Any suggestions ?

Thanks

Re: Palit ATI Radeon 3870, failure to display sometimes

Ok slight update. Tried the Slick Solutions standby tool but no change. Goes to sleep fine etc, can hear PC wake up or come out of standby but no display. Seems to be more likely to happen if TV is not switch on first.

Any ideas ?!?

Re: Palit ATI Radeon 3870, failure to display sometimes

Ok well I have a solution. Reading through various posts and information I had prior I have tried various configs of the MST tool and while it puts the system to sleep correctly it still looses display. I am using HdmiOn to initialise the connection to the Sony TV again and its fine. Will work on a shortcut for the mini dinovo or remote and should be fine.

Also have a look at a scheduled task that operates from the event log. When the PC comes back from sleep it seems to log an event saying return from sleep by the "Power-Troubleshooter". Possibly I can run a scheduled task when this event occurs to run the HdmiOn utility that way the comptuer would auto-return from standby.

Not sure if an event occurs when the computer returns just from standby but will check that out also.
