avi glare ?

Hi All,

This is my first post so bear with me if you can.

Avi files play fine in vlc and media player but when I play it in media center the white parts of the screen have black spots on them - it's what I would describe as bad glare rendering (or something).

Has anyone had this problem ?

I've tried multiple versions of ffdshow - and the vista codec pack has the same problem.

A friend found it weird that avi's play fine in media player but not media center - they use the same codecs ?

Any hints would be much appreciated,
Douliwok
