HDMI No sound after reboot

I hope somebody can help me with this as it's driving me nuts.

First, my setup. Zalman 160XT with the front display, Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3P, Sonic 9600GT HDMI Double with card with 2 DVI, 1 HDMI, 4GB RAM, 2.66 CPU, 2.3TB worth of HDD space, LG Bluray, HVR2200 TV Card.

I've got the TV card running an HDMI cable to a Sharp 42in LCD tv.

THe video card is set up with the displays set independently with the TV on 1920 x 1080 and the Zalman front display is set on 800 x 600. There are 2 dropdowns in the NVIDIA settings window for configure displays independently. The first one chooses Sharp + SG7 (SG7 being the name of the front display) or SG7 + Sharp. THe second one chooses which one is set as the primary display. This is set to Sharp.

Set like this, after a reboot, there is no sound output via the HDMI cable. If I open the NVIDIA settings and switch the displays around in any way then switch them back to the above settings then I can have sound via the HDMI. But I have to do this after EVERY reboot or start up. As you can imagine, this does effect the WAF.

I've tried setting the displays as SG7 + Sharp (making the Sharp the secondary display but set as primary display in the second dropdown) and I can have sound via HDMI on reboot. However, set like this I have lower display quality on the Sharp.

What I'd really like is to have the settings as Sharp + SG7 and Sharp as primary display and the sound on after every reboot.

Any help?

P.S. Running Vista Ultimate SP1

Re: HDMI No sound after reboot

Hi,

I think this has something to do with a sync signal your monitor sends from the HDMI port.

I had this problem and solved it by ensuring my TV and reciever were turned on before the media centre.

Cheers

Mark
