ASUS 3650 & SONY X Series waking screen after STandby

Hi,
I have just installed the ASUS 3650 GF Card in my HTPC (Previously had a 7600GT). I have the HTPC connected to a Sony X 52" LCD. (Running VISTA 32 bit MCE)

Problem I now have is that when I put the HTPC into standby / (S3 sleep) and wake it back up again, the Display does not come up. I need to completely restart the HTPC to get the screen going. The HTPC does come out of sleep properly as I can hear the TV through my sound system.

Previously with the 7600GT, I never had this issue.

I'm running Catalyst 8.4 (32 Bit)

Any suggestions on what the issue could be ? ANything in the Catalyst driver I need to set ?

Thanks

Chris

Ithought this was a common problem. Looks like it is just an ATI issue. I read somewhere that iit is specific to the xseries, maybe its an EDID issue.

Krypto,
Thanks for the feedback.... FOund the thread you were talking about.

Sounds like I should try and return the 3650 an trade in for a 8600GT(s). Would be an easier fix than waiting for AMD/ATI to fix or having to implement a work around.

I hope so.

Decided to raise trouble ticket with AMD... Was pretty funny.

Response #1 - Provided details on how to fix blurry screens ?
Response #2 - Asked whether I had Vista certified M/B... & what drivers...I did
Response #3 - Want me to check cables and see if I can try another Monitor ? I dont have a spare 52" SCreen !

Suppose just sit back and wait.

Have installed PowerStrip and just need to press HotKey to intialise..

I have programed some hot keys in the ATI CCC to change refresh rates 24/50/60. When I get home will try using these to wake screen.

I have the exact same issue with an ATI Radeon x300 and a Panasonic HDTV. I just bought the 3650 to fix this problem ... I hope that wasn't a mistake.
card arrives tomorrow.
