MKV h.264 Hardware Acceleration DXVA

Nope, you still need to split the video from the container. That's all Haali does. The video will then be sent to the MPCVideoDec.ax codec for decoding.

OOOpps, it appears I double posted above by accident, i thought I was viewing two different threads..
Can someone please assist with my first post regarding AC3 filter and killing .mkv files????

I was trying to get my HTPC to encode DivX files for me when it's just sitting there idle. So I installed DivX7 Pro and tried to encode a file. It popped up a box saying I didn't have an AC3 filter installed. So I remembered that I installed AC3 Filter on another PC I was using. So I installed AC3 Filter which killed my output for some files and made others not even play using VMC.
Part of that was that .mkv files ended up very stuttery/jumpy and the sound out of synch. So I uninstalled AC3 Filter, FFDShow and Haali Media Splitter, then re-installed FFDShow and Media splitter. My .mkv movies are still stuttery, what have I done?? I love my VMC, it's very touchy though.
I'd also like to know how I can use DivX 7 to encode movies with FFDShow and still use FFDShow to pass all my 5.1 channel sound out the S/PDIF optical to the AMP. Would it be better to start a new thread on this topic?? Which topic would I be best to start the thread in??
If you're not decoding with FFDShow, you'll need DirectVobSub for subtitles.

Found this thread today and tried 720p mkv play fine but the video will not play when installed DirectVobSub.
Any idea why?
EDIT: Done some search and found that at the moment subtitle is not possible when in hardware acceleration. So I think CoreAVC is the only solution at the moment.

I was thinking that might be the case - back when I tested DirectVobSub I wasn't using HA. I'm now using CoreAVC with CUDA HA, so I'll give it a quick test to see if it works or not.
EDIT: Seems to be working with CoreAVC using CUDA.

Me too works perfect with CoreAVC and FFDshow subtitle.
Now that this procedure has had a bit of time to get ironed out, has there been any progress from other codecs? The reason that I ask is because I have 2 strange problems I can't iron out, and it feels like they're related the MPCVideo.ax. First, my volume control doesn't work in VMC when I'm utilizing DXVA. Also, on the 3-4 MKVs I've tried so far, there seems to be significant ghosting. At least, I think that's what it's called - during action scenes the characters seem to leave trails.
Should I start looking at other codecs, or are there other options to tweek?
I thought I did everything that I need to get this working but apparently I missed something...
I installed a fresh MPC-HC and the MPCVideoDec.ax filter (registered as admin) then checked with Radlight filter manager that H.264 is enabled.
I'm now trying to play a x264 1080p mkv video with MPC (default settings, no other codecs or video related apps installed) and the result is 50% CPU load and slow-motion video. What should I do?
I'm using Vista 32bit, motherboard with integrated Radeon HD 3200 and an Athlon 4850e.
edit: I changed the MPC output to EVR custom presenter and now hardware acceleration seems to be enabled because CPU load went down to 3-6% but the playback is still slow-motion every other second. Weird. 720p runs fine.
edit2: I noticed my integrated GPU was set to use only 128MB so I set it to 256MB. Now 1080p runs smooth with a maximum of 6% CPU load. This thread is incredible!

Reason: More details
Next find the MPC - Video decoder and click on the Property Page button again, now click on the codecs tab and make sure that H264 / AVC is ticked, you can happily untick all the others.
Hope this helps.
I cannot find this for the life of me...
I've registered both 32x and 64x (System32 folder and SysWOW64 folder respectively) with the command regsvr32.exe MPCVideoDec.ax (I copied the 64x filter in to each folder and did them seperately with an administrator command prompt).
I just don't have MPC - Video Decoder (or anything that looks like it) in my direct show filters through RadLight Filter Manager v1.6.
