Display woes

Hey guys im having some trouble with my vmc stuttering.
Here are my specs.

Conroe1333-SATA2 Mb
Intel Core 2 Duo 6600 @2.40Ghz
2 gig DDR2
Ati X800 GTO
Leadtek DTV2000 H hybrid tuner (running in digital mode)
17" Lg Monitor

Ati 7.12 Catalyst drivers
ffdshow_rev610_20061201
Avivo decoder (set with DECCHECK and VMCDecoder)

This is my main pc and i use it for mainly web browsing and IM with friends.
Media center runs in the lounge and is dedicated to tv and all other vmc wonders.
I have tv out via s-video to a standard 68cm crt in the lounge.
The resolution on main monitor is 1024x768 @75hz and 1024x768 @25hz interlaced for the tv.

Im using the ATI Avivo decoder and it works sweet for me with both tv and my dvd watching needs.
But when i come back to my main monitor and press the windows key to give me focus on the main, it changes the resolution and stutters every couple of seconds on the lounge tv.
Going back to the lounge and pressing the green button to return focus fixes it straight up.
If i change the main monitor from 32 bit to 16 bit it fixes the stutter up but gives me an error message saying that media center needs to be running in 32 bit.
I have tried other decoders and older drivers but cannot find a fix.

Any ideas for a solution would be greatly appreciated.
