Re: ATI 2400pro/2400XT support & Discussion

No reason, just wont install. The 7.7 installer said done but no prompt to restart PC, restarted and no drivers listed or detected as 2400XT. ran 7.6 installer off CD and it installed all fine no problems what so ever and prompted for a restart and its all good.

I just tried clicking update on the 7.7 installer but it just hangs on "overall progess" and the bar is full. Just sits there. Maybe the download was dodgy?

How would i go about uninstalling all ATI drivers on my media center? Is there something like driver cleaner that works with vista? If so can you help me find it please?

Also i tried to install AVIVO before i tried 7.7 update, so i have a feeling i've destroyed things more than i have so far. Need to get some sort of driver remover to go back to stage one.

Thanks.

Deccheck can be downloaded off this site in the downloads section.

Here, save you the hassle: http://www.xpmediacentre.com.au/comm...?do=file&id=35

You can get just the AVIVO Codec package here:
http://ati.amd.com/support/drivers/v...n-vista32.html
Currently 7.7

There is also some information on how to remove the ATI drivers on their site. You'll need to poke around as I'm not doing all your homework for you.

Re: ATI 2400pro/2400XT support & Discussion

Yep i downloaded all the drivers and AVIVO stuff from there, when i go to run the 7.7 install it only installs the catalyst control center, no drivers what so ever. I also tried running as administrator.

The only drivers which seem to want to install are the Catalyst 7.6 that came on the cd with the card.

Even then using VMCD i cant see the AVIVO codec? This is getting dad fustrated as this isn't the first time we've bought something new and had it backfire on us.

EDIT: Forgot to say thanks for help

EDIT2: I love you guys, used DECCHECK thingo and changed it to AVIVO and then it appeared in VMCD and i changed it, nice and clear!

Still cant install the damn 7.7 though but it can stay 7.6 as it just works.

Hi Damoo,

Good to see you got em working. Yes the avivo codec is very good, if only it didn't have those little annoying bugs.

PS. To say thanks, you hit the "Thanks Button" an any entry that you found helpful and that way it builds your reputation and others.

Thats okay, we only use the media center for watching HDTV. When 7.8 comes out it'll probably fix all these little bugs anyway

Hi Damoo,

If your using the ATI mpeg decoder in Media Center, you won't have FFWD or RRWD ability.

I'm pretty sure your dvd's will work so long as you have ATI selected in DECCHECK.

Re: ATI 2400pro/2400XT support & Discussion

Oops, this thread turned into another codec thread. After this Post, will keep it to ATI Drivers issues only, not codecs

Today I downloaded the Realtek HD Audio drivers 1.72a. Here's what I did.
1)Complete uninstall of older Realtek Drivers
2)Reboot
3)Install Realtek HD Audio Driver version 1.72a
4)Reboot

Now i am using the MS Codecs and have HD Channels working fine, No more Green Screen! I wonder whether part of the green screen issue is infact audio. HD Channels broadcast in AC3, SD channels are usually Stereo only.

Re: ATI 2400pro/2400XT support & Discussion

Hi Pantonious,

All codec issues are now being discussed in this thread:

DNTV Live! Dual Hybrid PCIe S2 Green Screen HD Issues

I'd like to keep this thread for driver and card issues only.

Cheers.
