Help with tv pic

Hi all, i have just built a htpc, i used a silverstone lc20-m for the case, inside is an amd64 3500, 1 gig of ddr400, leadtek 8600 gts, 160 gig hdd, audigy 2 and a win tv nova 500 dvb card thingy. i have this connected to a 28" crt widescreen phillps tv via a svid cable. i have or at least seem to have every thing working well but my problem is the color on tv looks very washed out compared to the picture i get with ntl. i guess maybe this can be solved with something like powerstrip? i have no idea how to use timings/temps and the like so any help/guides i can read would be greatly received, sorry if i posted this in wrong section
