Could Anyone Recommend a Sound Card For £30-£40 Please ??

Could anyone recommend a sound card for £30 - £40 that uses toslink in, i have bought this http://us.creative.com/products/prod...&product=16770 and have found out that its not compatible with something in my system as i am getting glitches from the optical sound (crackles/pops)

So i am wondering what other people use and will try and see if i can locate any problems with these suggestions before i spend this time

PS does anyone want to buy a sound card 2 days old?? just does not work on my system
