BluRay playback just stopped

My first post on this forum so here goes.

In July I installed a Pioneer BDC S02 blu-ray drive in my MCE2005 rig. After installing the supplied Cyberlink BD Solution software all worked as intended. I DID have to upgrade my graphics card a notch to be HDCP compatible to an 8600GT, and the Cyberlink Advisor showed all green lights. All my BR movies played.

It's been some time since I have actually played a blu-ray disk, and last weekend I thought I'd show off the technology to friends from interstate. Well, the drive no longer plays blu-ray disks, though standard dvds are ok. As usual I followed the prompts to get to "Watch a Blu-Ray disk Movie" which in turn brought up the Cyberlink PowerDVD splash screen. Clicking on the play icon now brings up a directory titled "Edit Playlist", and will not play anything.

Today I tried again and was prompted to upgrade the "playmovie.exe" which I did. The result is the same.

Apart from the issues I am having with NVidia drivers can anyone suggest a solution

Thanks and regards

Phil

Re: BluRay playback just stopped

Hi all,

I think I may have answered my own question....and I hate that!!

I have just discovered that on the Cyberlink PowerDVD splash screen there's a small toggle icon below the Play button that selects the source (Ctrl+O)

I think it may have been selected to "file" i.e. looking to play a file from the hdd, hence the directory and edit playlist dialog box.

Toggling back to select the blu-ray drive e all now plays back ok.

Doh!!!!

Phil
