tv in black n white

Ok, this's my 1st attempt to join HTPC bandwagon and it's start to driving me crazy . i have been trying to connect my htpc to TV but all i can get is only black and white picture after the driver start to kick in. Before that, everything looks perfect in colour. have tried to change the signal to PAL and NTSC and both still black and white.

My TV is a crt TV (the bravia CRT) and i'm using s-video to composite adapter and the vga card in question is xpertvision 6600. I have been trying using the latest driver and the old version (i think version 83), but still no go Is there anything else i can try?
