Ati HD 3200 (on GA-MA78GM-S2H motherboard)

Hello to all,

I've read a lot of forums over the last few days.
I've upgrated my system, GA-MA78GM-S2H.
My previous card nvidia 6600 GT.

Problem my Philips 32PF5331 LCD tv.
The resolution 1366x768.

With the nvidia drivers no problems at all.
Works great, just add a custom resolution, and crystal clear 1:1 pixel mapping.

Now the integrated ATI HD 3200, can't add a custom resolution.
Looked over a lot of internet sites, the last couple of days.

Found 2 solutions:
1. Use omega drivers, see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omega_drivers
This has native build in solution for 13366x768.
Doesn't work for me, latest omega drivers (from 1-Jan-2008) are based on catalyst driver 7.9, my HD 3200 is introduced in 8.1, so have to hope that there will ever be a omega driver based on >=8.1
2. Use powerstrip. I'm not the wizard of oz, tried a couple of resolutions, but ****ty picture quality.

Anyone else got a good solution for this?
Thanks in advance, from a tiny country on the other side of the world, the Netherlands.

sooo...what is your actual problem???

You shouldn't need to add a custom resolution.

have you tried the latest (8.5) drivers from ATI?

How are you connecting your TV? VGA, DVI, SVIDEO, etc, etc

Connected via a DVI [HTPC] to HDMI [LCDTV] cable.

What I found today is a work around, to install a new plug and play monitor.

http://isochroma.com/Testfiles/Softw...iver-howto.txt
"These instructions allow you to unlimit your monitor, which means that you will be able to both see and select all resolutions/refresh rates your video card is capable of. "

Found on this page:
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/archi.../t-656928.html

So lets hope this does the trick for me.
Currently @work, so going to try in 10 hrs or so.

Didn't do the trick for me. :-(

I tried all resolutions, 1280x768 is my current setting, this gives the best image quality.
Its not 1:1 pixel mapping.
I know it is possible, because I have seen it using a nvidia card.
Or should I say its possible with a nvidia card.
