I am going to put new Palit 9600 GT Sonic into my MCE 2005 tomorrow.
Has anyone has any problems with 9600 generally? What are the most stable drivers?
Usual gratitude to all, helpful

There are heaps of leaked drivers over at Guru3D (174.xx). I'm using a 174.31 on Vista (there's an XP version) - I think it was a 9600 driver with a modified inf for other cards (I'm using a 7050PV).
There's 174.5x now, so that might be worth a shot.

The card is too long and does not fit my case. So 9600GT will go to the main rig.
I have got GeCube ATI 3870 instead, but it does not fit as well, just by a little bit.
Central position of the DVD drive bay is not a good idea, after all. I will have to shop for a new case, I guess.
Strange thing. When I put 9600GT into my main computer and updated drivers my screen (28" Viesonic 1920x1200) did an overscan on me (XP Pro)
Whatever I was doing, I could not get rid of it. Now I am installing 2008 server.

I have managed to fix overscan problem by creating Custom resolution 1920x1200x60Hz using DMT, but sharpness was a bit off and I could not adjust it using monitor controls.
Then I said to myself - lets try 3870 instead.
Have installed card, downloaded Catalyst - and everything is perfect
My dislike to NVidia is deepening fast. Now they cannot manage a monitor resolutions properly, not a TV panel.
3870 is FAST - any game is just flying.
3000 posts - now I am a Triple Poobah
