Recommend a replacement passive graphics card for an ASUS M2A-VM HDMI

Hi guys,

After much messing around with the on board graphics for the ASUS M2A-VM HDMI I have given up and want to buy a dedicated PCI-E card.

Has anyone got any recommendations?

Thanks,

F.

Take a look at the ATI HD 2600XT...does Blu-Ray 1080p and is cheap...I linked to a review here It is at least a starting point and is the lowest priced Blu-Ray compatible that I know of other than Intels new 33 and 35 series on-board northbridge chipsets.

Re: Recommend a replacement passive graphics card for an ASUS M2A-VM HDMI

Hi,

I am currently split between

GeForce 8600 GT (http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/...ProductID=2604)

and

ATI Radeon™ HD 2600 XT (http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/...ProductID=2586)

Anyone got any comments? After the pain of the ASUS M2A-VM HDMI I dont want any more issues.

F.

Google the model numbers to get some internet reviews....what do you want to know? I have the 2600XT but not the GeForce card. Unfortunately I don't have my big screen after I sold the Sony 32" CRT on e-bay due to lack of compatibility with Media Centre PC.

I had the 256mb DDR3 gigabyte 8600GT silent pipe in my machine for a while and it really was a great card. Just didn't quite fit in my case (too high).

I have a 2400XT now and am really thinking about going back to the nvidia.....
