hd-wmv issue with m2a-vm hdmi

hello again. I've got my htpc basically doing everything i think it should be (including standby sorted ), but now that i have it hooked up to my M series samsung lcd i've been trying a few diferent things as far as getting hd-wmv to play, without success.
The issue is that there is what looks to be a diagonal glitch through the screen from top to bottom, doesn't matter if the vid is full screen or windowed it's still there The panel is fine as it plays bluray via a ps3 no worries.
I've tried both purevideo and cyberlink decoders, different refresh rates and pretty much everything i can think of.
could it be that the onboard x1250 just doesn't cut the mustard when it comes to 1080p.
does any one have any ideas or should i admit defeat and buy a 2600xt, (which creates other issues)
TIA
