Red face Radeon 9700 Pro 128Mb in new MCE 2005 Build

Hi All,

New to the forums and new to Windows Media Centre so please be gentle!

Recently built MCE 2005 on an old(ish) machine:

Biostar iDeq 200N PC
Athlon XP 2600+
1GB DRAM
Radoen 9700 Pro 128MB AGP
Hauppauge WinTV-HVR 900

Software installs fine and when I go through the MCE initial setup for my tuner I get all of the local digital Freeview channels. However, when I do the video test when setting up the TV I don't see any video. I've installed a Cyberlink MPEG2 Decoder which is supported. I get audio but not video.

MCE recognises the 9700 Pro card on the basic install but I updated the drivers to the latest 7.21 Catalyst drivers from the ATI website. Now, MCE says it doesn't support the drivers/card and won't even attempt to display any video.

According to the ATI website this card isn't supported but I've seen a number of posts on this forum where folks appear to be using this quite happily. So, I have two questions:

1) How do I get the 9700 Pro to work with MCE 2005? Which drivers should I be using?
2) AAs I mentioned, after the initial install, I had audio but no video when testing the video. Any ideas why this would be? Any troubleshooting tips?

Thanks in advance and apologies if the questions are a little noddy!
