Avermedia USB2 MCE M038 low volume

I am using an Avermedia USB2 MCE analogue capture device, product code M038, on MCE 2005.

It works really well with my Sky STB. The capture quality is very good over s-video but the volume level of the recordings is very low. The sound part of the device using BDA drivers does not appear in device manager and there is no mixer control.

When I watch direct TV or listen the the PC playing non-MCE captured videos I have my TV volume set at 10 out of 100. When playing back TV recordings I have to up it to about 90.

Are there any registry settings that control MCE's input volume sensitivity? Any BDA settings I can get at.

I tried calling Avermedia UK tech support and they were none too technical.

Thanks
Paul
