Geforce 4 420 GO 32mb

Hi,

Is there anybody who got a Geforce 4 420 GO 32mb working with MCE 2005?
I got this card in my Compaq r3000 AMD laptop.

I've got the directx disable patch.. now it starts mce without the error in the beginning about a wrong or incompatible driver, but now when it try to play a video it freezes the whole machine.

So is there anyone who got a possible solution?

thanks in advance

Re: Geforce 4 420 GO 32mb

Bella used to use a 440MX (64MB I think), but that was the lowest card I can recall anyone running it on.

Re: Geforce 4 420 GO 32mb

From what I remember, MCE XP needs a vid card with 64mb ram. I don't really know why... but it seems that if you run all the hacks/patches etc... you might get audio at best. but no video. You might also want to try this site:
http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/drivers/xp

I'm not sure if it will work for your card, but you should try and find the newest version of the drivers that supports the 420 MX (they try and patch the installation of the nvidia drivers so that the newest ones are backwards compatible with older hardware - you're millage may vary).
