Ati Radeon 9660 - is it compatible?

Hi all,
I have built a HTPC using XP 2005 MCE from spare parts to use as an extender in the bedroom, ( I got fed up with the excessive noise from my XBox 360) the specs are as follows;

Gigabyte GA 7N400 Pro2 Motherboard
AMD 2800+ CPU
3 x 512mb RAM
80Gb barracuda HDD
AGP ATI Radeon 9660 Pro Display Card
Leadtek DVB 2000H TV Tuner.

All works well except when I try to go to Media Centre. The PC shows an error that says "Your Video Card or Drivers are not compatible with Media Centre" I have downloaded the latest drivers from ATI and they are MCE compatible (according to ATI). Is anyone out there using this card for their MCE? And if so, what drivers are you using?
Thanks in Advance,

Chopper

Re: Ati Radeon 9660 - is it compatible?

I had a 9600Pro that was compatible, so I think it's fine.

Do you have any remote control software on the PC (VNC, Netop, etc)? If so, it's likely that the video driver for that is causing the message.

Does MC still work after the message? If so, you can disbale the message/check in the menus.

Re: Ati Radeon 9660 - is it compatible?

Hi Justin,
Mine is also the 9660Pro, I have no other software installed. When I click OK to the error message it takes me into Media centre, however It won't play any video, it reports that the driver is incorrectly installed.
I have rolled back the driver to oct 2006 release and am still getting the same error.

Regards

Chopper

Have you got a video encoder installed? Like Purevideo or Cyberlink
