Angry Video resolution

I have an Asus nVIDIA EN7900GS/2DHT/256M video card which supports HDTV. I am running through a DVI cable with an HDMI adaptor on the end to the CONIA 50" plasma. The plasma says it can do 1366x768 but only shows up on the video setting as having a native resolution of 1280x768.

I have installed the latest drivers fron nVIDIA but it still does not allow me to enter the necessary resolution through the custom rsolution section giving me a 'Failed test' result.

Leaving the resolution at 1280x768 only makes the screen slightly jump sidewards on occasion. Also this resolution won't give me a clear picture when I use my Ultraview Plus tv cards in HD. It also creates a ghost effect when shows are broadcast in HD.

All seems to be fine when I'm in standard digital. (apart from the screen jumping sidewards).

Anyone got ideas?

Re: Video resolution

I had the same problem with my GeForce 6600 with the sync jumping all over the place

First of all I had to run DVI for my tv input

Go into the NVIDIA control panel

Go to manage custom resolutions and click the TREAT AS HDTV option and ALLOW CUSTOM RESOLUTIONS

then go a couple of options down on the left side menu (I forget what the menu is called)

select DVI and set 720p as resolution

an option will then appear to RESIZE the desktop, you will have to do this or your video will be cropped off the sides

Hope this helps!
