Arrgghhh- Ultraview - "No Overlay available"

..and it was going so well...

I have done a hardware update. Using nvidia & purevision.

There are two ultraviews plus cards

This morning, powering on in the Ultraview software I get an "overlay not available message"

MCE recognises the cards but scan fails with zero services detected.

I have latest nvidia drivers installed and Ultraview drivers that were OK with MCE under prev. install.

Clutching at straws here. Any ideas?

Re: Arrgghhh- Ultraview - "No Overlay available"

Hi Fred,

I have a single Ultraview card and my system degraded till the point of no return. I have just performed a full rebuild. I am using the 91.47 Nvidia drivers and the Ultraview 3.2 drivers and all appears stable except my SBS reception has gone from 90% strength to 75% and is now choppy in MCE.

I did try the latest Nvidis driver 93.x and that caused some corruption when switching between MCE and Windows desktop. Goign back to the older driver worked well. I have found the minute you change anything significant you have to do a full uninstall and reinstall of the Ultraview drivers.

Note the Ultraview drivers are just rebadged DVico fusion drivers. DVico drivers are at 3.5 now but it seems Ultraview are not interesting in keeping thier product up to date.

IN my experience the DVICO software will not work with my Ultraviews. No matter- given the seeming failure of http://www.ultraview.com.au to support its product I'll replace the cards with a PCI-E dual tuner in new year.

All the best

No luck needed- my Ultraviews have been excellent performers since the day I got them. IN any case, I've long since learned not to get too loyal towards hardware manufacturers. They only support their products only until the next great gizmo comes along.

regards
