Save audio from video file

Hello guys,

I would like to save the audio out of some recorded dvr-ms or mpg files. Is there a good way to do this? I have VideoRedo and Ulead Videostudio, but I don't think these will do this function. I suppose I could line output to my audio recorder, but that seems to be a long way around.

In researching this topic here, some have suggested Movavi, but they were talking about lifting the audio from a DVD, which again is not exactly what I want to do. I am thinking that there is some easier method that I am missing.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

King Hilary.

Re: Save audio from video file

VideoReDo can do this.

All you need to do is to Save As, and choose "elementary streams" as the output format.

If you want audio as a Wave file, rather than either an AC3 or MPEG1L2 compressed audio elementary stream, then go in the output options (Options button on the Save As dialog) and choose LPCM/WAV on the audio encoding combo box.

Video Studio will also let you save audio as a .wav file. Under the "Share" tab, select "Create Sound File"

what he said .

I did this with a couple of concerts on ABC2 then got to keep the digital audio then cut it up into individual wav files then compressed to high quality mp3

Thumbs up Re: Save audio from video file

Brilliant, exactly what I want. It works.

I wonder what I should have looked up to find out from the help documentation that I could do this. Even now that I know what to do, I still don't know how I would have figured this out from the help menu.

Be that as it may, I really do appreciate you guys being able to give me the pointers in the right directions.

I was wanting to get some of this music playing through the house on my SONOS, and was thinking that it would be so much easier to add audio files to my music library, rather than cueing up a bunch of videos to run through line in from the HTPC.

thanks again,

KH
