When i use crunchie to compress files i end up with video with no audio. I've searched the forum but the threads i found were pretty old and had broken links.

Re: Crunchie no audio

To be honest I'm not really sure what the status is anymore. The original problem with the audio was a result of the decoders being used in DVRMSToolbox not being able to detect the AC3 audio in Australian recordings properly.

That problem has been resolved to my knowledge. Have you got the latest version of DVRMSToolbox installed?

You can always try and convert a dvrms file to mpeg with dvrmstompeggui.exe in the dvrmstoolbox folder. If the mpeg has audio then crunchie should be fine. If it doesn't then you have a version of dvrmstoolbox that has the problem with AC3 audio.

Cheers,

Arkay.

Re: Crunchie no audio

I didn't have the latest version installed so i've just downloaded the newest one (version 1.2.1.2).
When i try install it tells me i need Vista (im using XP MCE) but the site says "everything but the automated commercial skipping will work on any Windows XP based machine." So do i need Vista installed or not.
I also couldn't find anyway to uninstall the old version without doing it manually, is it okay to just install without uninstalling the old first?

Re: Crunchie no audio

Sorry. I simply don't know. I suggest you ask on the DVRMSToolbox forums.

Cheers,

Arkay.

Re: Crunchie no audio

Try using this instead of DVRMSToolbox:

http://www.users.on.net/~dmcdonnell/ConvertToMPEG.msi

Note you need to install ffdshow:

Cheers,
Dave
