Vista Movie Maker

Vista's version of movie maker offers a variety of of options for producing wmv files. I was wondering if anyone had experimented and if so what the feeling is with regard to quality v file size and if this varies with subject matter i.e sport, movie, original recording quality etc.

Additionally can anyone tell me what it does with audio. Is 5.1 sound maintained?

Re: Vista Movie Maker

More experienced people may be able to prove me wrong, however, the following is in the help for WMM. It is in the section that discusses creating custom profiles for exporting movies . It suggests to me that WMM can only do stereo at best

//

Page Title: Create custom movie settings for Windows Movie Maker

The audio stream cannot contain more than two audio channels. Custom settings that contain audio streams with more than two channels cannot be used in Windows Movie Maker.

Does anyone know any better?? Love to know
