DVD Authoring now available in VideoRedo Beta 3.0.1.1.533
For those who have been waiting with baited breath (like me) here it is. I have downloaded a copy and intend to start playing with it some time in the next week or two.
Re: DVD Authoring now available in VideoRedo Beta 3.0.1.1.533
Gave this a go last night and I'm really impressed. The fact is that if like me you want to simply create DVD folders on a media server it is really flexible because you can tell it not to re-encode and to disregard all the DVD size limitations and just allow the files to remain as big as they need to be. Unfortunately I lose my 5.1 surround sound but then I think that was always the case with VRD. I have found one little gotcha which was discussed on their forum and that is the problems with working with remote files. My first DVD build failed right at the end when I was working remotely so I installed it on my media server where the dvr-ms files are and it worked perfectly.

Yes but be aware that it's rudimentary authoring only. This allows you to create a very simple menu but does not allow chapter based menus. Chapters exist but only for skip forward/back navigation. If you need anything more than very basic authoring then you will need to retain Nero or another package. Where this becomes ideal is when all you want is to archive tv shows to DVD or put in DVD folders for later viewing.

I'll download it and take a look anyway - it might be half-decent. Thanks for that.
Sure. To be fair, I only had a fairly quick look at it last night and authored one TV program so you might find that there are ways to do what you want. The main point I wanted to make is that they state that they have no intention of building a full-featured authoring package. More just a means for burning TV shows to disk.
Re: DVD Authoring now available in VideoRedo Beta 3.0.1.1.533
Beta build 534 is now available for those who are interested. Please note that you currently must be a registered VRD Plus owner to trial the beta DVD authoring features.
To comment on some of the discussion above, multiple shows of the same format can be added to a single DVD, and chapters (defined during editing using the usual VRD options that can be used for creating a chapter file) can be created within each show (they are not shown in the DVD menu but you can jump between them using the usual next/previous chapter buttons on your DVD player). Also, DVDs can be created without a menu if desired.

For those who are interested, VideoReDo TVSuite is now out of beta, and is available as a discounted pre-release upgrade for existing VideoReDo Plus v2.x owners.

I downloaded the trial yesterday to get an overall idea of the newer interface and features in VideoReDo TVSuite.
I ran through each area of the programme to check everything worked O.K.
It impressed me enough to upgrade my registration key.
For those using a resolution of 800 x 600 just be aware you may have difficulty in clicking on the OK button located at the bottom of the screen in certain areas of the programme.
Thanks to philzgr8 for starting this thread. And thanks to HyperReality for an excellent service and product.
