Angry Burning Help

Hi Guys,
Ive had this issue for awhile and cant seem to find any solution.

I wish to burn recorded programs to DVD from within MCE.

I have tried various versions of Nero (7.8.5.0, 7.0.8.2, 7.5.1.1, 7.0.5.4) all with the same result.
When Nero is installed using fast forward, rewind or pause screw up/freeze play back.
I have installed all components and only Burning ROM and all with the same result.
Uninstalling corrects the problem

I have also tried Ashampoo Burning Studio v6.10 and there is no burn option from within MCE.

Also when I try selecting to burn a recorded program with non of the above installed I get a Create Failure error.

Excuse my noobness but any help would be greatly appreciated

Re: Burning Help

Hi tester,

Why do you have to burn your DVD's from within Media Centre? I found that the Burn DVD option in Media Centre as supplied with my HP pavillion desktop computer had relatively little functionality. I was limited to only burning programs that were not more than one hour long. The burning option used Sonic software, but there was a reasonable chance that it would not work. Also I was getting a runtime error when I closed the Sonic Digital Mediahub.

Now I use Video Redo and Ulead Video studio10, and DVD burning works every time.

Tonight I discovered why the Sonic Digital Mediahub was giving me a runtime error. It appears there is a conflict with Windows Mediaplayer 11. HP has a patch for this problem, but I have not installed it yet.

Cheers,

King Hilary.

Re: Burning Help

The reason I want the functionality to burn programs while in MCE is I only have a remote control, no keyboard or mouse as its in my lounge room. Also I want it to be simple so the misses can just select a program and burn.

I do have UltraVNC setup on the box and can connect from the office so worst case I can remote in, close MCE and burn using AShampoo or the like.

It just seems to me that if the functionality is there, why wont it work

Re: Burning Help

Well after all that I said I wasn't having any problem, I tried to burn Miss Marple Sittaford mystery so that the kids could watch it. Unfortunately I wasted a disc burning it with ULEad Video Studio. The sound got out of synch about three quarters of the way through. What a pain. Low children approval factor.

I tried again twice, making iso files. Continued to get out of sync.

So I opened media centre and burned from within media centre using the mpg file I had made using Vidoe redo, with the ads taken out. Media centre burned the DVD without problem. It has cut down the file size to fit and just burned it. No synchronization problem. Kids are happy. And my wife will get to watch it later. Doesn't help the WAF because of the time wasted on the copies that did not work.

But it means that Media centre will burn a DVD using this setup. I am using an HP Pavillion Media Centre. It uses Roxio/Sonic prgraming that came with the computer to do the burning.

Question Re: Burning Help

Does anyone who is using Ulead VideoStudio know why the video should get out of synch with its audio at the last step?

Thanks,

King Hilary.
