Does anyone have DNTV Dual Hybrid PCI-E S2 working ok on Asus A8N motherboard?

Hi All

I am unlucky enough to suffer from the same issue many others do in regards to my second Dual Hybrid PCI-E S2 card I own dropping out from time to time when resuming from standby.

I am more than happy with the setup other than that one point and I believe the issue to be with my motherboard (Abit AN8 Ultra). I dont want to have to go and buy a new mobo, CPU, memory etc to try and resolve it but would be willing to put another Socket 939 board in so I can use all my existing kit.

I have seen a few Asus A8N boards available to buy in places (SLI, SLI Deluxe, A8Ne) and am just wondering if anyone out there has this board and these tuners and does not suffer from the loss of the tuner from resume?

I have lived with the hassle up to now but the WAF would be that bit better if I could just nut this one nagging issue out.

Cheers

If you want to find a working fix for the resume from standby bug suffered by a number of TV cards then download and install "MCE Standby Tool". It's free and it works.

Hmmmm, I have been using MST for quite some time and it hasnt stopped the random disappearing of the 2nd tuner (3rd and 4th virtual tuners of the 2nd physical card that is).

Are you aware of some magical setting thing that many of us arent as there are a fair few people who have the issue.

Re: Does anyone have DNTV Dual Hybrid PCI-E S2 working ok on Asus A8N motherboard?

No I just run it with default S3 Standby settings. i don't have two DNTV S2 cards tho just one as well as a TinyTwin. Before installing the MCE standby Tool the S2 tuners always disappeared when resuming from standby but never after installing it.

I have a Gigabyte motherboard not an Asus but the Asus should support S3 STR standby in BIOS as default.

Do any of the tuners disappear from Device Manager? If not then I'd suggest it must be a VMC setting but no idea what.
