TinyTwin USB Problem

Hi guys,

After a MEGA hassle with TinyTwin and MCE2005 I have now moved to Vista, unfrotuantely I am having simimlar problems. I've managed to get the correct Driver to display FINALLY.

The trange thing is that the registry has only created 1 Tuner for the USB device.

It also has \\?\usb aswell for the Dev Path... looks a little strange, I tried leaving it as the single it detected but it does not work in MC, just doesnt display anything.

Any ideas?

I simply pointed it to the correct Driver when I installed it and that's all I've done.

Cheers

To me it sounds like the best thing you can do is take out the tuner, delete the registry key the tuner made and alos uninstall the drivers. Reboot and start from scratch. Should work as I've had exactly the same setup run perfectly on both MCE2005 and Vista for months.. maybe even a year or so now...

If you are referring to this TinyTwin
http://www.digitalnow.com.au/product.../TinyTwin.html
there is only one item shown in the device manager and that is for both tuners. Not sure about the registry. Check your USB port (it has to be USB2 won't work on USB1.1) and your USB extension cable as these can cause problems if the tuners don't get enough power through them.

Re: TinyTwin USB Problem

I have tried many different methods to get this thing working... removing things and readding them, nothing seems to work....

One thing that may help me... @ what point in time does the registry get updated with the tuners? when the driver is installed? does Media Centre update the registry? What updates it stating it's 2 Tuners and not 1?

Why don't you contact Digitalnow support? I have a TinyTwin and so have a number of colleagues and they all work perfectly under Vista, so it can only be either your system (USB ports power?) or the tuner may be faulty.
