Exclamation TV Tuner not detected after a restart

Hi all,

Hope someone can work this one out as getting to my wits end on it.

I have a Vista Home Premium Media Centre that I have built for my brother in law.

Using a Hauppauge HVR-2200 TV Tuner card and a ASUS M2A-VM HDMI motherboard.

The problem is that if the PC is restarted for any reason the TV Tuner card is no longer detected, and the only way to get it back is to shut the box down and turn off at the power point. Boot up again and the TV Tuner will be fine until the next restart.

My own media centre box had the same issue (though I'm using a DigitalNow tuner instead). I fixed my own problem by turning off the BIOS option to allow the PC to wake from PCI/PCIx devices. This same setting hasnt worked for the other PC.

Looking for any possible suggestions I can go around with to fix this .

thanks in advance

Move it to the PCI-e X1 slot if not in it already. Flash your MB BIOS. This motherboard is a dog - I have tried two of them and they are very bad, IMHO.

Re: TV Tuner not detected after a restart

Thanks for that.... will double check that BIOS is the latest version as Tuner card is already in the PCIx 1x slot as using the 16x slot for the HDMI output adaptor.

Shame you havnt liked the board though I've enjoyed it bar this issue.

Will post if that works or not

Re: TV Tuner not detected after a restart

All behaving now.... Put both updates on at the same time so not sure which one is the fix.... but feeling is will be the BIOS update that resolved it.

Restarted PC 4 times and tuner worked everytime

thanks for the help
