Mutiple Tuners with Different Inout sources

I have a Hauppauge HVR-2200 card which currently is configured as a STB source (S-Video input). What I would like to do is to get the dual digital tuners working along with the analog (s-video) input for my set top box.

After much research it looks like this would be achievable with registry hacks but I have not been able to confirm how this would work with the channels. As the Set top box has channels not available via the digital tuners (and vice-versa) I assume you would need to map channels to tuners otherwise the media centre software would not know what channels to use to record or watch any given channel.

Has anybody here had any experience setting this up and can confirm how it would work (or not work)?

Re: Mutiple Tuners with Different Inout sources

From what I have read this is not possible to do within Media Center (I wish it was).

The only thing I can suggest is you setup cable (I'm assuming you want to setup foxtel) with Media Center and then switch to the software that came with your tuner to watch TV.

If you find info on these hacks could you post them?

Re: Mutiple Tuners with Different Inout sources

It certainly is possible, but its a hack to get it working. You should note, that if you use one tuner for analogue, you won't be able to use it for digital.

A little bit of searching would have yielded good results.

Does this mean I can;t do it with a hybrid card? My card has dual digtial and dual analogue tuners as well as video-in.

I want to setup and use both digital tuners for Freeview and have a set top box input through the video-in for Telstra cable TV.

From other post that I ghave read I am assumin that this is possible. What I am unsure off is if you can map channels to tuners as Telstra cable TV has different channels to Freeview.

Anybody done this or similar?

Re: Mutiple Tuners with Different Inout sources

You can't do what you want.... they hybrid is a digital or analogue tuner, you can only use it as one or the other. So if you use one tuner for analogue you'll only have one digital tuner.

So if you want two digital, you'll need an additional analogue tuner.

Thanks for the clarifaction. Can you confirm that it is possible to specify the channels for a tuner or does VMC assume that all channels are available for all tuners?
