Need help getting turner to work in VMC

Hi Guys,

Long time reader, first time poster :-) . I have ben lurking in these forums for a while and reading some of the great stuff in here. I finally got around to building my own Vista Media Centre over the weekend. Everything seems to be running fine but for some reason VMC doesn't fin the Digital Tuner card.

I am using the Winfast PxDVR3200 H tuner and have all the drivers installed. I can watch the TV with no problems through it's own player that came with the drivers. It will display fine, I can use the EPG and it has 100% signal strength. But when I go into VMC and go to do the setup for TV when it gets to the section for scanning for the available channels it doesn't find any. It is almost like VMC doesn't see the Tuner card.

I have read the stickys at the start of this forum section but they only talk about adding extra tuners. And they also offer the steps I have alread tried (ie: go through setup options in VMC etc).

Any help you guys can offer would be great. Thanks heaps in advance.

The specs for this card don't explicitly mention Vista Media Center support, only support for the Winfast pvr software. Are you sure this card has the BDA drivers necessary for VMC?

Re: Need help getting turner to work in VMC

Hey guys thanks for the quick replys.

I ended up uninstalling the drivers. I re-installed and re-started the PC before doing anything and it now works fine. The IR remote actually works with VMC aswell you just have to click a box in the Winfast setup menu.

Tuner is very good and very easy to setup and use with VMC would recommend it to anyone looking.

Must have just not re-started PC properly after installing a driver I think. Too excited and in too much of a hurry to get it going :-)

Thanks again for the help.
