Unhappy Foxtel picture Hazy

Hi,

Lately in VMC, i have been getting a hazy picture, especially while watching Fox Sports ... i have come to the conclusion it is most likely the tuner card (a DNTV Live S3).

On Fox Sports i get a blurry picture especially around the logo and with other channels such as SciFi for example, there is a definate "Shimmer" on the uniforms in Star Trek.

I have read many articles, blogs regarding the hauppage and winfast tuners and was wondering wich is the best, no need to worry about the cost all i want is a good picture.

Anyone can help?

Regards,
Rob

Re: Foxtel picture Hazy

How do you have your Foxtel box connected? With Foxtel you are working with analogue signals to the VMC. If, as your post implies, the signal quality was better than it is now but has deteriorated, then it is unlikely to be your tuner card. Much more likely to be some sort of interference or degredation caused by the fly leads and connectors between Foxtel and VMC.
