Working with 2 tuners - issues

hey all,

just need to try and get my head around how all this works

i'm running a single hvr2200 and i've got a bit of an issue when recording one show after the other on different channels...

example... i was recording the simpsons... i had told it to do that earlier in the day... following that i wanted to record something on another channel... i started watching the end of the simpsons (selected it via the guide) but what i didn't notice is that instead of using the spare tuner it used the one that was recording the simpsons... so therefore the recording was cut off and the other one started (due to my setting of a pre and post buffer on recordings)... basically both tuners were watching/recording the same channel!

i hope that makes sense... is there a way to avoid this happening? i do plan on getting another hvr2200 soon (so i'll have a total of 4 tuners), but it'd be nice to know how to avoid this happening again for now.

cheers

Re: Working with 2 tuners - issues

It's the classic Australian TV problem - channels running over time.

The only real way to do it with 2 tuners is to set an advanced record & set hard padding (stop after 5, 10, 15 mins etc.) - remeber though that the VMC will pinch the tuner you're using for live TV for the second recorder.

Once you get a second HVR-2200, you can set priorities for different tuners (whether they should be normally used for live or recorded TV & in what order).
