WinFast DTV Dongle Gold

Hi guys,

A mate of mine is putting together a vmce.
He purchased the WinFast DTV Dongle Gold USB tuner.
When scanning for channels in media centre it doesn’t find any channels,
but seems to work using its own software?
Any idea about this one?
Cheers

Re: WinFast DTV Dongle Gold

I for the life of me, can not get Windows XP MCE to even recognise the Leadtek DTV Dongle Gold is even there.

I get the error "The tuner hardware is either malfunctioning, or is not installed. Please ensure the tuner hardware, and hardware device drivers are installed correctly"

Can you possibly e-mail me the drivers your friend is using?

Do you have winfast PVR installed or not?

Re: WinFast DTV Dongle Gold

Probably not what you want to hear, but he put the card in the bin! One of the worst cards i have ever seen. The support from the manufacturer was terrible!
Good luck

Re: WinFast DTV Dongle Gold

Yeah, have to agree. I binned my non-Gold Winfast dongle last week. It never worked well, but lately started causing blue screening whenever I stopped playback.

Stick to the major players when looking at tuners. For USB, I still recommend the DNTV Tiny USB which I have used without issue and with great support for the last three years.

E.E.
