Exclamation HVR-2200 Few quick problems

Hi all

Just finished my build with this card and when i install Wintv it pops up with the install box that says Win TV Setup (Vista) then straight away it says Installation Complete. I click ok... then exit the hauppauge auto run. But there is no icon in the start menu at all for wintv. I don't think it is actually installing. I have restarted and tried re-install but it did not work.

should i download the software and try to install it?

thanks
jnicholas

Hi

No experience with that particular bit of software but most of the times with Vista you have to right click on the set up file and choose " run as administrator" to get over these things

That may fix it

Cheers

The HVR-2200 is built for use with Media Centre - just run Windows Media Centre from the start menu instead.

jnicholas,

Took this straight from the New Magic / Hauppauge driver download page;

"Hauppauge has developed support for Windows Vista on many of its HauppaugeTV products. Below is a list of products which run under WindowsXP MCE, Vista "Premium and Ultimate" and links to the current drivers. Note: The Vista testing was done using the Vista Media Center application for TV watching and recording. The Hauppauge WinTV application is not yet supported under Vista."

You insert the card and run HcwDriverInstall.exe (downloaded from the above link).
Then you use Media Center for all you LiveTV needs ..... and more

I never bothered with Radio, but I did read a guide somewhere on here I think that explained how to trick Media Center into finding all the Radio stations.
It went something like having to set the card as analogue first, then copying some registry data, then setting it to digital, then pasting the registry data back in.
Sounded too messy for just Radio, so gave it a miss. Besides, I can always just push the 'tuner' button on my Amp remote and listed to it through that.

Mark.

The link in the post above yours points to the latest drivers. I'm using these and get no stutter at all on live tv. If you are still getting stutter after installing these, then the problem lies elsewhere in your system.
